Even though I don't like to play that card first, because there is more to me than just the country I grew up in, let me start by telling you I am from Germany. No, I didn't just live there with my parents for a while, I am actually German and at age 19 I moved to the US by myself to be an AuPair and eventually, to study.
So I recently graduated with a Bachelor in Film and English, after years of working as a live-in nanny in order to pay for University. Because no, I am not from a wealthy family. Unfortunately, I am in just as much student loan debt as most Americans are at this point in their lives. Anyway, I had planned on moving just about anywhere at this point, but as my mother had feared I met a wonderful man and will now most likely stay in the US.
Over the past year my love for film has slowly turned into a love for lighting and cameras in general, and a love for photography in particular. Over the past year I've been studying, practicing, and learning from mistakes and I am now at a point where I feel that I can call myself a photographer without wondering if I deserve the title just yet. Am I finished learning? No, and I hope I never will be. After every session I still scan every image for faults and find a crazy amount of them. But that's what will make me better, ultimately.
From now on I will share with you my journey, my knowledge, and my interests in the hopes that it will help you along on your own path in some way.
